The Canadian Intellectual Property Office (CIPO) has been made aware of several incidents in which Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) applicants and agents have received payment notices that have not come from the International Bureau of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and are unrelated to the processing of international applications under the PCT. Whatever registration services might be offered in such notices, they bear no connection to WIPO or any of its official publications. These fraudulent invoices are intentionally designed to appear as invoices coming from an official source, and may bear a logo with similarity to WIPO's name and logo.
More information on this topic and contact information should you have any questions can be found at the WIPO website
