Launch of CIPO's Online Banking System

As of February 1, 2013, CIPO's deposit account holders are able to replenish their accounts via their Canadian bank's online banking system.

Please follow these instructions to take advantage of this option:

  1. Log into your online banking account;
  2. Add CIPO as a recipient in the bill payment section; 1
  3. Enter CIPO's ten-digit online banking number, which can be found on the Online Statements page of CIPO's website under the "On-line Banking Ref. No." column; 2
  4. Transfer the desired amount of money to replenish your CIPO deposit account.

1 CIPO might appear as "Canadian Intellectual Property Office," "Office de la propriété intellectuelle du Canada" or a similar name). If CIPO is not listed, ask your financial institution to add it to the list of recipients.

2 To access your online statements, you must have an Industry Canada account with a username and password.

In order to create an account, retrieve a lost or forgotten username or password, or update your Industry Canada account, visit My Industry Canada Account web page.

Then please contact CIPO's Finance Directorate in writing to link your Industry Canada username to your online deposit account statement. Your request must include the name of your firm, deposit account number and Industry Canada username.
