Annual Report 2010-2011
CIPO's 2010-2011 Annual Report was tabled in the House of Commons on May 11, 2012. It discusses CIPO's operating environment and how we successfully navigated through a period of fragile economic recovery.
In 2010-2011, CIPO continued to make progress towards the outcomes identified in our 2007-2012 Strategic Plan. By offering more self-service opportunities, and strengthening the Intellectual Property administrative framework, we maintained our commitment to expanding client service. In addition, our sustained prudent financial management, combined with the economy recovering sooner than anticipated, helped stabilize revenues in 2010-2011.
CIPO helps spur Canada's economic development by protecting the value of new ideas so that innovators and society at large may derive benefit from them. In this way, CIPO plays a key role in supporting Canada's economic performance. By improving our processes and services, we're helping innovators focus on creating new ideas for the future, and commercializing the ones they have right now.
