Are original works contained on a website protected by Copyright?

Original literary, artistic, dramatic or musical works contained on a website are protected by copyright provided the conditions set out in the Copyright Act have been met. Please note that the Copyright Office cannot offer advice as to whether a particular work is subject matter of copyright.
