How long does registration last?

The term of protection is for a period of ten years from the date of registration, subject to payment of a maintenance fee before the expiry of five years and six months from the registration date. If the maintenance fee is paid before the five-year mark, the maintenance fee as per item 2 of the Tariff of Fees is required. Any late payment made within six months after the five-year mark must include the additional fee as per item 3 of the Tariff of Fees.
