What happens if someone else applies for the same design that I apply for?

Should more than one applicant apply to register essentially the same design, the Industrial Design Office will examine the applications on a first-come, first-served basis. The application with the earlier filing date (either the Canadian filing date, or the Convention priority date, if filed earlier in another country) will be registered.
