Maintenance fee due dates
This timeline illustrates the maintenance fees and due dates for the lifetime of an application or patent. These fees are for small entities — for standard entities, double the fees.

Note: The time periods show the years from the filing date.
* The filing fee covers this period.
** If the due date falls on a weekend or a day when the Patent Office is closed, then the due date is the next business day.
Example:
For instance, if you filed an application on May 7, 2007, and maintained it for the full 20-year term from the filing date (to May 7, 2027), your maintenance fees would be:
3 X $50 = $150
5 X $100 = $500
5 X $125 = $625
5 X $225 = $1125
for a total of C$2400
