PCT-PPH (CIPO ISA/IPEA) Agreement
(Indeterminate)
Due to the success of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT) - Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) pilot project based on PCT work products established by CIPO as the International Searching Authority (ISA) and/or the International Preliminary Examining Authority (IPEA), effective January 31, 2013, this pilot project will be replaced by a PCT-PPH agreement for an indeterminate period. The requirements and procedures of this agreement remain the same.
CIPO will continue to process requests for advanced prosecution under the PCT-PPH (CIPO ISA/IPEA) project free of charge. Regular fees (Schedule II of the Patent Rules) for requesting examination will continue to apply.
Please note that the Office may terminate the PCT–PPH (CIPO ISA/IPEA) agreement if the volume of participation exceeds manageable level, or for any other reason. Notice will be published if the PCT–PPH (CIPO ISA/IPEA) agreement is terminated.
