Deposit Accounts

Deposit accounts are an accepted method of payment for e-filing systems released before April 1, 2008. They are a quick and convenient way to do business with CIPO.

To open a deposit account, please contact the Finance branch at cipo.finance.opic@ic.gc.ca.

Deposit Account Replenishment

Replenishing your deposit account can be done by cash, debit card, money order, cheque, wire transfer or credit card. It is important to note that you are solely responsible to ensure sufficient funds are available when a payment request is made and that proper instructions are given when replenishing your deposit account.

To ensure the instructions hold all details needed, we recommend using the Fee Payment Form (available April 20, 2009) which can be sent to CIPO by fax, mail or by hand delivery.

Deposit account balances will be sent on a monthly basis, or you may request it by emailing the Finance branch at cipo.finance.opic@ic.gc.ca.
